Dry Needling

Fast relief for stubborn muscle pain and tightness. Dry Needling targets trigger points that limit how you move and how you feel, so you can get back to work, sport, and life with less pain and more strength.

What's the Difference Between Acupuncture and Dry Needling?

Great question! Acupuncture is an ancient healing method from China that's been around for thousands of years. It focuses on using very specific points in the body to help restore balance and promote healing.

Dry needling came along much more recently as part of Western medicine. At first, many providers were taught that they couldn't use acupuncture points (because of copyright concerns), so instead they targeted "trigger points" in tight muscles and often added a little electrical stimulation (called e-stim) to improve results.

Dr. Martin received training through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy (AAMT), which conducted extensive research and found that utilizing acupuncture points does not infringe on copyright. In fact, their findings show that combining acupuncture points with e-stim can be significantly more effective!

This integrated approach allows patients to experience the best of both worlds– respecting and utilizing the wisdom of ancient practices while benefitting from modern medical advancements!

Why It Works

  • Releases trigger points that drive pain and tightness
  • Improves range of motion and muscle activation
  • Calms pain signals and boosts healthy circulation
  • Pairs well with chiropractic care for faster results

  • E-stim utilizes voltages and frequencies which activate your system's biochemical anti-inflammatory response
